About us

Local Development Foundation for Pomurje region (LRF za Pomurje) is a non-government organization, established with the purpose to encourage philanthropy, to finance non-profit activities and develop NGO sector in our region (Pomurje, Slovenia).

Since 2008 it works as a regional hub for NGOs of Pomurje region (Slovenia) and providing a service for NGOs. We are regional information, advocacy, advisory and training centre for NGOs in Pomurje region. We also established a regional network of 470 NGOs within we want to achieve a greater and faster progress of the NGO sector in Pomurje region, so NGO sector would be an equal partner actively involved in the decision making processes (civil dialogue).

We organized more than 150 trainings for NGOs covering fields of management and administration, communication, advocacy, project management etc. and provided counseling to more than 600 organizations. We are also the major regional NGO information provider regarding tender opportunities, current developments as well as important local, regional and national news that is of interest to NGOs.

In cooperation with NGOs and municipalities in region we seek to ensure an optimum framework for NGO sector on local and regional level.

We organize events to present the NGO sector to public and to media. We organize annuals, conferences and other meetings to promote the sector.

We are actively involved in regional decissions making processes, because we have a member in Regional development council. We are part of the working group that prepared the Regional Development Programme of 2021-2027 and are coordinating NGO representatives in the council.

We also have a member in Development Council of Cohesion Region Eastern Slovenia.

Our mission

Our mission is to give professional advice and support for a more sufficient development of non-profit organizations of Pomurje, as well as stand up as strong advocates of the NGO sectors of our region, so that NGO sector would be an equal partner actively involved into the civil dialogue on a local and regional level and would help to develop our region with new contents, projects and services.

Our vision

LRF za Pomurje will strengthen the capacities of NGOs, will increase the level of cooperation with local communities and other stakeholders and strengthen the role of NGOs, involved into the forming of the politics.
